McAdam brothers John and James

Fermanagh

In the research of my family history I have found brothers John and James McAdam born County Fermanagh around1803-1813 to parents Terence McAdam and Susan McManus. Both John and James moved to Scotland .John McAdam marries in Scotland and has a son born Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland in 1828 and James McAdam marries in Paisley in 1841.I have no other details of their parents or siblings. I would be happy to hear of anyone researching or belonging to this line and would be glad to share such details as I have of their life and family in Scotland.

The Mitchell library in Glasgow has a large collection of Poor Law records. It was quite common for poor Irish emigrants to require assistance. These records can contain details of where they lived/were born and other family details.

Thank you, Bob, that is helpful as it is not too far from me. I am hopeful, though, of finding other family members/descendants on this site.

Hi LizL, Terence and Susan were my 5th great-grandparents. I have very little info on them, having just found their names on John and James’ documents and would love to know more if you do. Best wishes, Mandy
