Patrick Blanchflower and Winnefred Ward
I am re-posting this request from May in hopes I receive some responses.
I am looking to determine a relationship between Patrick Blanchflower (born between 1798 and 1805 in Ireland, county unknown) and James Blanchflower (born about 1801 in Ireland, county unknown). I think they are brothers but can't prove it. Patrick married Winnifred Ward, date unknown but likely around 1825 or 1826 in Ireland, and died in Ashton under Lyne, Cheshire England in 1845. I have his death certificate. James Blanchflower married Ann Craven in Ashton Under Lyne and died in Ashton Under Lyne in 1885. I have his death certificate also.
There are numerous Blanchflowers living in Dublin City in the late 1700's and early 1800's, so I have been looking there for Patrick and James' baptism records but with no luck. This has mostly been in St Catherine's Church. They were Catholic.
Locating the sponsors on their children's baptism record may establish a link but I have not been able to locate those records.
Patrick's children (dates approximate)
Michael, born in Ireland, county unknown 1826
Hugh James born Cheshire England 1829
Elizabeth born Cheshire 1835
John born 1837 Cheshire
James Blanchflower's' (1801-1885) children all born in either Lancashire or Cheshire England
Mary born 1829
Thomas 1831
Ann 1834
James 1836
Charles 1840
Ann 1842
Also, if I can find the names of the parents of either James or Patrick, it would provide the connection I'm looking for.
Appreciate any guidance you can provide that would lead me closers to solving this mystery.
