I read that entry as baptism date 5 July 1840, child's name Anne (unclear) Cannan, parents Pat[rick]. (Cannon) and Marg.[aret] (nee) Walsh, sponsors/godparent Cath. Moore
Added - the couple seem to have married in the same parish in 1834.
Patrick,
It looks to me like the child is Anne, the parents are Patrick and Margaret Walsh, and the one sponsor is Catherine Moore. I often see the names Mary and Margaret mistranslated...you can see the name Mary two below that entry, and it differs from the Marg. in the entry you are questioning. When Marg is abbreviated, I often see what looks like a dot of the letter "i" above the final letter "g". Others might disagree....
Roots Ireland, the paid site, also shows the baptisms of two additional children in the Balbriggan parish
Richard Cannan, 22 Oct 1834, parents - Patrick Cannan & Margaret Walsh, Sponsors - William Byrne & Judith Cannan
John Cannan, 7 Dec 1836, parents - Patrick Cannan & Margaret Walsh, sponsors - Garret Byrne & Mary Lynch
Regards,
Thank you both for the expedient reply and helpful interpretation. Unfortunately, these are not my people. I was searching for the Baptism of Patrick Gannon, born approx May 1840 whose parents were William Gannon and Margaret Walsh; their county and parish are unknown to me. I've combed through NLI.ie and RootsIreland without success to-date. Thank you again. Patrick

I came across this page and wondered if it might relate, I did notice the spelling of Gannon was different on various records.
