BRADY Family
Hello to all in Lusk,
I have strong connections to the Parish and have been visiting Lusk and the local area all my life, as it was home to my Mum.
I am researching my families origins and started with my Brady line. I am hoping that there is some local guidance in helping me to discover what life in Lusk would have been like over the last couple of centuries.
My Mother, Margaret, and my older sibling's lived at Colcotte, Lusk before moving to England in the 1960's.
Her Parent's are MARY BRADY and Michael Condron, who lived at OBERSTOWN, LUSK. They are both buried in LUSK Graveyard, along with some of their children. MARY was born in 1894 in FLEMINGTON, BALBRIGGAN.
MARYS Parent's are EDWARD BRADY and Elizabeth Gormon, who had also lived at OBERSTOWN and are buried in SKERRIES Graveyard.
EDWARD BRADY was born in SKERRIES ( one of ten) to EDWARD BRADY(2) and Maria Duff.
EDWARD BRADY (2) was born in BALBRIGGAN (one of eight) to LAURENCE BRADY and Mary McCormick.
LAURENCE BRADY (one of nine) was born in LUSK in 1811. His Parent's are JOHN BRADY and Catherine Connolly.
JOHN BRADY was born in SKERRIES in 1783 and his Parent's are JAMES BRADY and Mary Colman.
JAMES BRADY was born in LUSK in 1762 and his Parent's are PATRICK BRADY and Frances Mooney
I am fascinated to know what LUSK was like during the later half of the 18th century and earlier 19th century. Can anyone recommend any sources?
To date this is the longest 'branch' in my family tree that I have established and I still have family in the area's mentioned. If any BRADY's think they may be connected to mine do get in touch. I have some evidence of the births of the siblings to 'MY' Brady's.
Good luck to all,
Josie
