In the title of your message you have said you are looking for ancestors of this family. In the body of your message you say you are looking for descendants. A bit confusing but I assume you are looking for both.
Seapatrick Church of Ireland’s records start in 1802, so you should be able to trace the early family through that. (Copy in PRONI in Belfast). By the time of the 1901 census there were several Mahood families in the town, all Church of Ireland. Presumably your family is connected to one or more of them:

If you provide a bit more information about your James & Thomas, I might be able to find a little more. When were they born and died, who did they marry, what were their occupations etc?
There’s 25 Mahood marriages in the Banbridge area in the period 1845 to 1901. You might want to go through them and see if any names ring a bell. There’s some descended from a James but I have no idea whether they are your family without more information.

Plenty of Mahoods from Seapatrick on Rosdavies’ site:

| . | Thomas | MAHOOD | . | Seapatrick | son of James Mahood; married Margaret Brady 25 Feb 1850; father of Agnes b. 25 Sep 1868 & Anne Jane b. 30 Jun 1871 regd. Banbridge |
James - married Margaret Brady . James and father William Grand Lodge Masons - 1842 James membership says Sir James Mahood .
They had linen mill and many workers cottages and James family in a master house. Can you find whereabouts near Banbridge this was?
The 1850 marriage between Thomas Mahood & Margaret Brady records that Thomas was a labourer and his father James was a weaver. The family are therefore unlikely to be linen mill owners who would have been significantly better off. They might have been labourers/weavers in a mill, but not the owners of that mill. Thomas's address is given as Banbridge, indicating he lived in the town somewhere, but it may be difficult to narrow down where.
In Griffiths Valuation. 1863. there is a Thomas Mahood living close to a James Mahood in Tullyear townland. James had plot 21a and Thomas plot 18a. Both were labourer/weavers cottages with small gardens. Plot 18 today is on the modern Rathriland Rd and plot 21 on Bannview Rd, near Bannview House Care home. Both just outside Banbridge. Plot 18 looks to have largely been built on with modern housing. Plot 21 is more rural but appears to have a modern house on it and little else.
I found 2 James Mahood deaths in Banbridge town who could perhaps be connected to your family. First was in 1891 and he was a winding master (a trade in a linen mill).

The second was in 1880 and he was a weaver. Both lived in Pound St, Banbridge.
