Wedding witnesses 1828, presbyterian church killinchy

DownKillinchy (Down)

Hi, re the wedding of Hugh Hurley and Jane Jackson in 1828: the witnesses were James Dickson of Derryboy and Thomas Stewart of Ringdufferin.

Any help in tracing these two individuals would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bill,

I found a record of a Thomas Stewart in Killinchy parish Griffith?s Valuation:

This is a property valuation survey that was carried out in Ireland 1848-64.

There is an earlier land record available known as the TIthe Applotment Books (1823-38) where you could also search. You could even search for Hugh in them. Unfortunately, the counties of Ulster are not yet available online, however the PRONI have copies s it may be an idea to contact them to see what they have available. Here is their website once again:

All the best,
