Hi, I'm a descendant of William Dorris b. 1715 Down, Northern Ireland d. 1795 North Carolina, USA through his son also named William b. 1761 d. 1842

I am a direct descendant of Jose Dorris born in Down County,Kilkeel Parish,William Dorris,sr,born in Downs County,Kilkeel Parish died in North Carolina, William ,Jr died in Sumner County ,Tenn.,Lewis Dorris,Henry Priest Dorris,Gertrude Dorris Roberts

You don't say what denomination he was but in general, though there are a number of chruches in the Kilkeel area, none has records for the 1700s. Tracing this fmaily will therefore prove very difficult.
