Owen McAnulty born c 1775 died 31 October 1835 (Clonallon)

Kilbroney (Down)

Hello,

I am trying to locate my ancestors, my 3rd great grandmother was Rose McAnulty who was born in Clonallon in 1834, she left Ireland with her husband Patrick Templeton who was born at Warren Point in 1831 they migrated to Liverpool around 1856

We think her father was Owen McAnulty (details above) and her mother was Hannah Connelly (Colney) born in Clonallon

My sister and I are making a trip over to Ireland staying in Rostrevor, we would appreciate some information before we go so we can research further into our Irish roots

thank you so your help

Thank you so much for this information

Is it possible please to have a year of birth for Owen and possibly his parents names

My sister and I are travelling to Rostrevor in May next year and would love to visit the church and find out more if we can

Sheila,

The marriage and baptism records for the RC parish of Clonallon begin in 1826, so you will not locate a birth record for Owen. I looked for his marriage record to Hannah, but did not find one, so maybe they married prior to 1826. Marriage records back then did not give the father's name generally. Roots Ireland (paid subscription) shows a possible daughter, Elizabeth, born in 1830 to Owen McAnulty and Hannah - no surname given. I did notice on their son John's baptism record that Hannah's surname was written as Conley.

Regards,

Carolyn

Carolyn,

thanks again for your hard work

You guys are so helpful and we appreciate what you do

Best wishes

Sheila

There was another Templeton - McAnulty marriage around same time in Warrenpoint and so I wonder if 2 brothers married 2 sisters?

John Templeton married Catherine McAnulty and they had a daughter Mary Anne in 1865 born in Church St, Warrenpoint. The father was a sailor and was in New York at the time of the birth:

There are references to the births on the RosDavies site:

McAnulty is a fairly common name in that area. You may find it challenging to trace the right families.
