Hi Michelle,
Thank you for message.
Unfortunately, IrelandXO cannot provide access to records ? there is no central repository in Ireland for records. Most records are still held at a local level.
If you would like to look for Daniel?s birth record in Kilbroney parish it may be best to write to the parish priest for possible assistance.
A handy website for Roman Catholic records is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. For Kilbroney parish follow this link:
For information on Church of Ireland records check http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42 and http://www.nationalarchives.ie/.
Have you tried looking for his birth record online? Some Irish church records are available online so you may be lucky and find Daniel?s:
www.familysearch.org Here is a huge database of records including some births and baptisms in Ireland
www.rootsireland.ie Also have a huge collection of Church records available. However you have o pay to use this site
It may also be an idea to contact the Ulster Historical Foundation for assistance-a fee may apply. Here are their contact details:
Ulster Historical Foundation,
49 Malone Road,
Belfast BT9 6RY
Northern Ireland.
Phone: +44 28 9066 1988 Email:enquiry@uhf.org.uk
I hope that this is helpful. Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.
Kind regards,
Genealogy Support
Hi Michelle,
I believe that Daniel O'Hare is the brother of Ann O'Hare, my 3x great grandmother, who married Daniel Crilly (also from Kilbroney) in Liverpool, England in 1830.
I have recently made contact with a DNA match who is also descended from Daniel O'Hare.
To the best of my knowledge they were Catholics.
I would be very interested in sharing information with you.
Kind regards,
Sue (Sydney, Australia)
