John McPoland

 hello. My great great grandfather was born in Barneem townland of county Down on 11/15/1856. His name was John Coyle but apparently his brothers were all McPolands. He immigrated to the US in 1884.  The story was that he was an Irish catholic and came to the US to escape the English.  I suspect that his name may have been McPoland.  I cannot find any Coyle names in Barneem. I found a McPoland on Griifiths value in Barneem in 1858.  I also found a john Mcpoland and Ellen McLarnon marriage in St Patricks church in Dumgrath. 11/1856 and a baptism of a  11/7/56. The son was named John. I also found an immigration record of a John McPoland in 1884 to Americs.  Am I to assume that my great great grandfather was indeed Wm McPoland?

i am traveling to Barneem this mid June (from Minnesota). Any help in solving this mystery or finding his parents graves would be most appreciated.
