Thank you Eileen - I did not know that the two youngest children were born in England, so that is wonderful to learn. Still hoping there is a living relative out there somewhere that I might connect with.

Hello Susan,
I'm doing research into the Irvines and have some information. I'm currently trying to get hold of the parish registers, and I have managed some of them, Here's the information I have on John Benson and Jane Irvine's children from the Tullaghobegley registers (seen so far):
David, born 24 Jan 1849
Richard, born 12 May 1851
Thomas, born 31 August 1853.
From this, and your information, they must have left between 1853 and 1861 - as the registers continue past the start of Civil Birth Registrations, they don't seem to have had any more children in the parish, so perhaps they left soon after 1853.
[Rev.] David Irvine buried in Raymunterdoney Churchyard, aged 77, on 6 Jan 1851. The man I'm researching is his brother John Irvine (c.1809 - 1871), but I'd be curious if you have details of Rev David, and especially their parentage and place of origin. The Irvines died out in Falcarragh in 1912, as have most of the families associated with them.
Hope this is of some help, albeit 3 years afterwards. Cheers, Nial
