I've checked RootsIreland and Ancestry/Family Search and haven't found anything besides the county name.

I'm planning a trip to Ireland in late April 2026 mostly for recreation, and don't have in person research plans yet, only if needed.

Whole family immigrated to the US I believe around 1811 from Londonderry, they were Presbyterian

Mother: Ann Nelson (1759 Ireland - 1829 NY)

Children:

Ann Elliott (1794 Ireland - 1874 NY) + William Leslie (~1791-1803 Scotland - 1839 "at sea" while living in NY) (my ancestors)

Eliza Elliott (1804 Ireland - 1800 NY) + Robert Bent (1799 England - 1874 NY)

Margaret Elliott (1796 Ireland - 1868 NY) + William Griffin ( 1778 England - 1863 NY)

I am sorry that you do not have more specific location detail.

The surname Nelson is not so common, Elliott is a surname found in many locations.

As your departure was in 1811, many Presbyterian churches had not commenced holding records, for some congregations, they are only retained from mid-1800s. While Anglican/Church of Ireland conducted some marriages between Presbyterians, their churches were requested to send records to Dublin, when sent (some retained) lost in 1922 Four Courts fire.

I note that FTDNA has an Elliott DNA project. Family Tree DNA reportedly has more people with Ulster roots than any other company.. You might want to try them or, if you have already tested, you can transfer your results to them for no fee there is a small charge for additional features. The North of Ireland Family History Society has an Ulster DNA project in conjunction with FTDNA and can offer testing kits at a reduced price.  http://www.nifhs.org (Go to DNA project on the website).

In the 1796 FIax Growers Iist, there were a number of EIIiots and NeIsons in DonegaI. It Iooks Iike both names occurred in Urney and Donaghmore.
