query re founding father Farigal Gallagher

Kilmacrenan (Donegal)

Hi everyone

I am trying to find out more information about a founding family of Eganville, Ontario (about 25 miles from Renfrew), namely Farigal / Ferigal / Farrell Gallagher (c.1821-1908) & his wife Julia (also Gallagher; c1822-1909).

I want to find out who their parents were. And if they had any siblings.

Here is what we already know …

Farigal & his wife Julia were born in county Donegal, Ireland and came to Canada in 1847.

Their children were born in Eganville, but they later moved to Grattan township.

Farigal died in 1908 and was apparently buried at Mount St. Patrick cemetery.

Is there any documentation about this particular couple and their ten children? I attach a book extract below with some brief information, but there may be more information from newspapers, other books, etc

Do we have any information about their parents or siblings?

Do we know where this couple were born and raised? The townlands of Currin, Drumdeevan & Cashleenan may be relevant.

Looking forward to any thoughts or recommendations.

Warm regards, Maurice

There are 197 trees on Ancestry for this family. They suggest parents of Farigal are James Gallagher (1803-1856) and Bridget Strain (1800-1878). It looks like the family moved to Ontario. James died in Grattan, Renfrew, Ontario. One of their sons was Hugh.
