Gordon Clan
DonegalKilmacrenan (Donegal)
My great grandfather was born on 10May1836 inCasheleenan, Parish of Kilmacrenan. He came to Canada around 1850. His name was Hugh Gordon. Hi fathers name was John Gordon and his mothers name was Rebecca. He had two sisters Martha and Mary. When he came to Canada his mother and sisters came with him.
We have no further information on John or Rebecca Gordon.
I found in the 1825 Tithe Applotments records for Casheleenan a Robert Gordon and Hugh Gordon. We have not been able to determine if John came from either of these two but seeing that this was a very small area I would think there is a conection there.
Any further information would be greatly appreciated.
