Searching Spence Family

It may be difficult to confirm this information as it can be difficult to find records that dates back that early. As you can see from the Irish Times websites Catholic records for the parish do not begin until c. 1840:

Church of Ireland records generally tend to have an earlier start date as they were the official church of the country at the time so it may be possible to find something in these. Most surviving Church of Ireland records are still held by the local clergy, although some are in the National Archives of Ireland and others are in the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. Lists of these surviving registers can also be found at the National Library of Ireland.

I've just seen this, so I hope you are still interested!

I have a Rev. Robert Spence, Rector of Donaghmore, (Church of Ireland, ie Protestant), b. circa 1725 and died 6 JUne 1759.

He married Hannah McClintock, 1732-1796 in 1758.  They had one son, John, born in 1759. She then married Sir Hugh Hill, MP (Member of Parliament) on 17th July 1762 at St Mary's, Dublin.

Hannah's parents were John McClintock of Dunmore House, Carrigans, Co. Donegal, 1687-1754 and Rebecca McCausland, 1711-1811
