robert mccluskey (mccloskey) (mcclosky) (mcclusky) 1766

Hello. I am searching back in my family tree. It seems we came through Lawerence PA through Wallace Mccluskey. Now trying to get back to Ireland has been a challenge. Near as i can find is Wallace's dad is Robert and Mother Elizabeth.

DOB for Robert is 1750 and death 7/1/1815. It seems he was the first one to come from Ireland to Pennsylvania.

In a uncofirmed source, there was a reference that a Robert McClosky was at the following location in 1766 - Gortcorbies, Drumachose, Londonderry, Ireland

It really adds confusion when i see so many references to McCluskey with different spellings. they seem to be all over the place, yet still possibly the same person

another unconfirmed reference i found indicates that maybe Robert Mccloskey had a daughter (Jane) that might have stayed in Londonderry and married a William Gibson. From a 1841/1851 Ireland census

There were McClusky and McClutchy baptisms and marriages in the Magherafelt area with several entries found in the Castledawson Presbyterian Church Register, PRO Mic 1P/90 from the PRONI.  If you email me at ronaldjdale@netscape.net I will happily share what I have.
