Did Ellen die in Ireland? Did John stay in Ireland? I checked for a death record (Mallow, Mitchelstown, Fermoy) for Ellen on Irishgenealogy (free) and didn't find a record for the year you identified.

Thank you for your replies. It appears Michael or it could be John stayed in Ireland. His son Michael went to Australia 1854.He and Mary Mullans had Ellen 1847, John 1850 and Anne 1854 (on board the ship David McIver).

Not sure how much this you can read. On the ship roster, Michael's parents Jane and John are both dead. Mary's parents are living in Mallow but are going to New York, United States. Family in Australia- Michael identifies his brother-in-law, Denis Mahoney, an innkeeper.
