Lyn,
I cannot find their marriage record in Cork. Do you have their children's names and birth years/location?
Regards,
Hi Carolyn,
Thamkyou for your reply.
Michael and Eliza's children were
Margaret born 1873-1880 (died aged 6)
Maey Ellen born 1876
Margaret born 1880
John born 1874
James born 1887 all born in Cork.
Thankyou
Lyn
Hi Lyn,
I still did not locate their marriage record, but am wondering if you are confident about the children Margaret (both girls) and James as being theirs. I looked on irishgenealogy.ie, and there are those children born in those years, but their parents are not Michael and Eliza. The Margaret that died in 1880 shows Catherine Callaghan present at death...I would assume that is the mother. Ancestry shows four private trees for a Michael Callaghan born in 1849 in Cork, but I cannot view them as they are private.
Regards,
Thankyou Carolyn ,I will check records.

Thankyou so much for your message. I will definately look into those parishes mentioned. I would be thrilled if we were distantly related.
Hi Carolyn,
Thankyou for your help. Concerning Michael O'Callaghan and Eliza O'Brien, we have not been able to find their marriage certificates either. Regarding the 2 daughters both named Margaret I should have said the first Margaret had died before 1880, as the second one was born in 1880.
We have both birth and baptism records confirming Michael and Eliza as the parents of both Margarets, Mary Ellen and John.
In the 1901 census of Ireland, a Widowed Eliza O'Callaghan is living with her spinster sister Margaret O'Brien and son James O'Callaghan aged 14. They were living in Brown Street, the same address recorded on Mary Ellen O'Callaghan's marriage certificate dated 1895. This seems like a likely match however I don't have any records relating to James's birth or baptism.
One of the private trees on Ancestry with Michael O'Callaghan in it will belong to my son.
Regards Lyn Hill
