Loughlin/Loughnan of Boherbue County Cork

Cork

Hello, I am looking for assistance with my family research on my fathers paternal line.  I have found the below so far and am intrigued by some of the latin records as the spelling of Eugene seems to vary.

Eugene (Eugenis/Eugenius) Loughlin Married Mary (Maria) Shine  23rd Feb 1867 (RC) Grooms father is Richard (Ricardo) Laughlin and Brides father is Daniel (Danielo) Shine. I have also found records indicating Mother was also Maria.

Eugene and Mary had 6 children that I have found:

Richard 1868

Daniel 1870

Patrick 1872

Julia 1874

Mary 1879

Jeremiah 1887

There is quite a gap between Mary & Jeremiah and I have a Eugene (brother of Patrick) living in West Ham, East London with Patrick and his wife Ellen Hall (19) in 1901. My fathers name is Eugene so I'm particularly interested in tracing this brother.  Sadly Patrick (GGF) died fairly young and Ellen remarried so my dad doesn't know much about the Loughlin family.  I have found a record of Patrick & Ellen visiting his Mum (Mary) in 1911 with his 4 children (my Grandmother Molly)

Eugene seems only to exist in 1901, is it possible Jeremiah = Eugene? I might have found a record of him emigrating to Canada from Queenstown but I'm not sure as the name changes to McLaughlin.

All help greatly appreciated!

Jenni

Eugene and Owen are the same name. If you can't fine Eugene, maybe look for Owen.

Thank you Patricia and Roger, I never would have made that connection without your knowledge!
