Baptism Record - Tracton Abby, Cork & Ross
I have found a baptism record for what might be my 4x great grandfather, Jeremiah Calnan. His parents are shown as William Calnan and Mary Noonan. Jeremiah reached adulthood and married Mary Ann Moore in Cork in 1796. Their son, also Jeremiah Calnan, was born in Cork in 1797. The family moved to England in the early years of the 19th century.
I've attached a copy of the register, but unfortunately the digital image is very poor quality and the date details for this baptism are not visible. I'm hoping someone can explain why the left hand side and bottom right hand side of this register all refer to 1827, but the top right hand entries would have to be 1771 if the record is for my 4x great grandfather? Another anomaly is the handwriting on the top right hand side as it is obviously very different to the 1827 entries. Can I (or should I) rely on this evidence to confirm that this is in fact my 4x great grandfather?
Many thanks
