I know my grandfather, Michael Shanley, was born in Lietrim. I do not know what parish. I don't know much about his siblings, but am pretty sure he had a sister named Ann and I think a brother named Frank. He played the fiddle and accordian and was a member of a band in the Chicago area in the 1960s. He died in Chicago in 1971. Looking for family information, relatives. thanks!
I think this might be your Michael Shanley. The place in County Lietrim is likely Carrick-on-Shannon.

You are spot on! I was trying to find the obituary, but had no luck. I noticed you also responded to the McGloin message. We know more about the McGloins than the Shanleys. One of my brothers has been to Ireland several times and visited with the relatives, as well as seen the McGloin Store. I have not been as lucky - yet! Hopefully, we will get there soon. thank you for you help, I really appreciate it.
I'm not related. Just goofing around seeing if I can make connections for people. I have online access to Chicago Trib Obituary Archives. Happy to search any other names for you. Also if you have other Chicago family, Familysearch.org has parish records that you can search through.
