I have traced my Sullivan roots back to Inchigeelagh. I am looking for information on John Sullivan, spouse, Mary Leary Sullivan, son Timothy,christening 22Sept1823; son John christening 19April1827. I would like to know the name of the Catholic Church and the address. Are there any distant relatives still in the area?

Have you tried looking at Church records in Inchgeelagh parish for information? Most Catholic records are held locally so you could try writing to the local parish priest for possible assistance.. One website which you may find helpful is the Irish Times website where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. For Inchigeelagh/Iveleary parish follow this link:

The O'Leary clan gathering is held there every Sept. Usually the first week end. I am attending again this year Sept. 4th to the 6th. My ancestors are also Leary and Sullivan. I found their church records in Adrigole, Cork. It is west of Bantry Bay and near the county Kerry and Cork border. I also used Gerard Neary to help me. Have a great day; Joe O'Leary
