Any relatives remaining in the area?
Hi,
Thank you for your message.
Have you tried looking in the Irish census records from 1901 and 1911 to see if there was any family still in the area at the turn of the century? You can search these here:
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/
It may also be an idea to contact Mallow Heritage Centre in North Cork for assistance-a fee may apply. Here are their contact details:
Mallow Heritage Centre,
27-28 Bank Place,
Mallow,
Co. Cork.
Phone: +353 (0) 22 50302 Email: mallowheritagecentre@gmail.com
Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.
Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.
Kind regards,
