Neenan Family
I am new to this site visited Ireland the end of May to do some research on my family. I am at a brick wall. Does anyone know where I could find information on the following family: John Neenan (born 1822 in Co. Cork...possibly Kanturk) and married to Catherine Curran (born 1824 in Ireland). THey were married 5/10/1845 in Kanturk. I know that John's parents are Patrick Neenan and Mary Burns. I have no information on Catherine Curran's family. I was at the Heritage Center in Mallow many years ago and they found nothing. I also visited the Heritage Center this year without any success. Does anyone know of any Neenan's in the Kanturk area? How do I get a copy of John and Catherine's marriage certificate which may have information on their parents? Patrick and Mary must be also buried there but could not find the grave in the Immaculate Conception Church cemetery. I'm thinking that they were buried before Immaculate Conception was built but have no idea where that cemetery would be. John Neenan and Catherine Curran came to the U.S. 1846-1852. I believe John had at least two brothers who also came to the U.S......Patrick (born about 1828) and Daniel (born 10/2/1832) who may have been married in the area as well to a Johanna ?.....I have no other information on Patrick or Daniel.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. My recent trip to Kanturk was interrupted by rental car problems which we had to go to Cork for parts/repairs so I was unable to have time to locate any other cemeteries in the area. Thank you!!
