Hello,
You haven’t provided enough information about James Bartholomew Butler. Information that would be helpful includes the names of his parents, especially his mother’s maiden name; James’s year of birth, or approximate year of birth, and the religious denomination of the family. Both Church of Ireland and Catholic parish registers for Carrigaline, Cork go back to the 18th century.
Regards,
Dave Boylan
