Barry/ Shea

Looking to find earlier membersof thesefamilies. Richard Barry & Margaret Elizabeth Shea had a daughter Elizabeth Maria baptized at St Erasmus Church in Nov. 1889. A son James was baptized in 1881. They then moved to the States in 1882.

Margaret Shea had a sister Maria who married Robert Dooley in 1863. They had a daughter Bridget (Dela) who baptized at St. Erasmus on Jun 1864. They too moved to the states in 1879 but with 2 daughtersBridget & Catherine. The1875 NY Census says Catherine was 2 yrs older than Bridget, which would put her before their marriage.

Elizabeth's daughterMary, wrote downthese names as her Great Grandparents:

Richard Barry - James Barry & Elizabeth Barrett

Margaret Elizabeth Shea - Michael Shea & Mary Totton (Lotton?)

We don't believeshe knew them, just told their names as she oftenlamented that she wished she more of her family.

She also noted the names of 2 of her Uncles: Edward & John Barry. Those she knew by her notes.
