Do you know the name of the boys' father?

No sorry. This is as far back as I can go. James was my G.grandfather and its written on his tombstone
I take it you have already tried rootsireland.ie to see if there is any record for his baptism? You might be able to narrow it down to an estimated birth year range
Best wishes

Hi 10dillon,
Delighted to see your post as I am researching these Dillons. Did he have a son John who married a Margaret Fennessy? John and Margaret are buried in St Bathans too, so I took a chance that maybe James was his father, but it could be Patrick. Please do get in touch. Or if you have info on Leonard John or Briton Edward as I have information on those. They are sons of Jack & Maggie
Thanks for that and yes Briton was my Farther who married Margaret Ann kennedy. Leonard john was my uncle who married Marie Kennedy
John Dillon was my Grandfarther and he did marry Margaret Fenessy Johns had 3 Sisters Maggie Ellen and katie and had 2 brothers Patrick and Stephen
James was indeed Johns farther
Martin
Thank you Martin,
It's great to find that my hunch was correct. In fact just before i saw your reply I had found Ann's, will giving those names, but still could not be sure it was the correct John. The family that I know about is the Kennedy family, so I can put you in touch with your 2nd cousins, which is really close. So hopefully you can get in touch through my email.
Hi Martin
I am a Fennessy in NZ - may have spoken to you before - do you know if anyone would have a photo of
Margaret "Maggie" Fennessy
1873–1921
BIRTH 1873 • Naseby, Central Otago, NZ
DEATH 29 JULY 1921 • Otago
who married John 'Jack' DILLON?
I would live some photos of the older Fennessy' as I have only a very few.
Thanks heaps
(not sure how to share my email on this site as new to it today!)
Hi Irish Kiwi
Maggie was my great grandmother, her eldest Patricia Annie my nana, who married Frank Healey and they had 7 children, 2 are still alive in their 80s now.
Hi Mummacat,
I did not have that information already re Patricia Annie's marriage. I was researching them because of their Kennedy connection. Her brother's Briton and Leonard had married 2 Kennedy sisters , daughters of Michael Kennedy (1883-1918) from Galway and Nellie Cooney whose parents were from near Waterford.
Norah Fennessy married John's brother Patrick Dillon. Their father was Michael Fennessy from Co Clare. I wonder if "Irish Kiwi" ancestor is one of those Fennessys too?
I presume you know your cousin Martin Dillon.
Mary Hackett
Hi Mary
My sister has all the family tree. Dad helped mum collate it all when he was doing his side of the family tree. I would have seen Martin's name on the tree, not met him though, so he will be a cousin of my mums. I recall the brothers marrying sisters. Have a photo of Leonard here at home in his army uniform
I have a photo of the Maggie and Jack Dillon. Will wait for Irish Kiwi to reply
