Searching for Murphy family in Cavan in early 1800s - 3x great grandparents

Cavan

My 3x great grandparents emigrated from County Cavan Ireland in 1820 and settled in County Cavan in Durham, Ontario.  Their names were Amberson and Eleanor Murphy according to Census information I have found in Canada for the time they settled.

He was a sergeant in the Ashfield yeomanry and a weaver, according to land requests in Canada.  Therefore, I am assuming they came from the townland of Tonaghbane in Co Cavan.

I can't find any records of any Murphys in Cavan in the late 1700s and early 1800s.  Part of that is likely because no records exist for that time since so many were destroyed.

Any idea how I can find out more about their origin in Ireland or their emigration records?

I had just enough information about my ancestors combined with a bit of luck that a subscription to Irish Newspaper Archives (https://www.irishnewsarchive.com) was helpful.

Do you have their death records which might identify their places of birth and parents?  Baptism records for their children (which might identify other family in the area)?

I have a Catherine Murphy I'm looking for in the Tralee area, born early 1800s.  Haven't given up, but wow - it is a tough one!

I have death records for Amberson and Eleanor but place of birth is just listed as Ireland.  I also know most of their children's names because Amberson wrote a will which I have largely deciphered.  I've been successful in finding baptism records in Ontario for some of their children born in Canada but can't find any records in Ireland for the older children.  I fear that all those records were lost in the Dublin fire.  Murphy doesn't seem to be a common name in Cavan which makes me wonder if they came there from another county before they emigrated to Canada.  However, I believe that people didn't move much or far either so that could be wrong.  I'd love to find information on Amberson or at least find Eleanor' s maiden name but no luck so far.

I'll check out the Irish news archive.  Thanks.

Any chance Elenor's maiden name is on the baptism or birth records of the children born in Canada or on her death record?

Sorry I can't help more.
