Looking for info on John Sullivan Lynch b. 1821

I have tracked many of my Irish ancestors back to Cavan, but this particular ancestor remains a big mystery to me. I'm not absolutely certain about any of the following information, but I think it's right. 

I know that John Lynch was born in Cavan in 1821 or thereabouts and got married to Bridget Heatherton, when and where I don't know. I'm not sure if they married before or after they left Ireland. 

I believe that John's father was John Sullivan Lynch (1788-1851), born in Tralee, Co. Kerry. Mother unknown.

I believe that John Sr's parents were Patrick Sullivan (1755-1790) and Catherine Bridget Sullivan (1760-1797).. If I'm right, John Sr would have been an orphan by the time he was 4, which may be why I'm having so much trouble tracking him. Perhaps he was raised by step-parents. I've got a real strong suspicion the family ended up emigrating to Canada by 1848. 

I know this may not be much to go on, but I'm hoping for a breakthrough on this character. Much gratitude for any and all leads.
