Kelleghers in Bawnboy

My great grand mother on my paternal side,  Kate ( Catherine) Kelegher/Kelleher 

was born in Kildoagh Bawnboy 1893- and died in Manchester in 1963. She was one 

of 6 girls, Rose Ann, Mary Ellen, Mary Bridget, Margaret and Sarah. I understand 

that four of the girls went to America but one of them remained in Ireland. 

The burial register for St Mogues island refers to a number of Kelleghers 

including a Rose Ann. I would like to try to establish if any of them are 

related to me. I am also keen to identify if I have any living relatives 

in Bawnboy. My dad can remember very clearly  going to Dowra for his holidays 

to meet family but I cant find any connection to Dowra? 

I am planning a visit to Bawnboy in August 2026 to coincide with the St Mogues

island community day. Any information would be greatly appreciated as would 

meeting up with any local volunteers on the trip next year.
