CR Surfa:
Many of the RC churches in Co. Cavan do not have records back to 1818. So if your John was baptized in one of those churches, his baptismal record would not be available.
I checked the Roots Ireland indexes and did locate an 1823 baptismal record for a John Donahoe in the Lurgan RC church records. The parents were Laurence and Brigid.Lurgan is in southeast Co. Cavan.
I don't know if this is your ancestor. Many immigrants adusted their age when they came to another country.
Let me know if you have any questions.
