sorry for the delay but there appears ot be n o volunteer in that particular area.

Firstly not every grave got a stone as the families were poor, there should be a civil record of the death and maybe even a mention in the Anglo Celt, yoiu could try emailing Cavan library for information.

THe stone you found is near were this site is about and maybe if you can contact them them may know where it probably is. Is it possible the are all were the one you found is. http://www.bawnboy.com/local-genealogy/ I see from registers that this is near Kilawley. See http://registers.nli.ie/ This is RC but parishes usually the same.

Histoirc graves site is also putting graves up but not that area yet. Sometimes I find that the local history society if htere is one will have catologued the local old graves.

Hi Liam, there was a fault on the site and the actual query had not appeared when I looked, appears to be fixed now, James McKiernan age 40 and a widower married Mary Maguire on the 19th April 1892, the registration district is Bawnboy. His father is John and they are farmers, the marriage register is free to view online on Irish Genealogy, all BMDs from 1864 but do not see the earlier marriage. https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/ which may be prior to 1864 unlike as if he is 40 in 1892 he was born in 1852 but age often wrong, note they both sign X on register. Also first wife died in February 1889 and he was present at death, her age is given as 41.

I cannnot see any children born to the first marriage on Roots Ireland nor the marriage nor the first marriage and I see on a thread you were on on Rootschat that they are on the census, appears odd, any first names etc
