Richmonds of Cornadarra(gh) Townland, Drumlane Parish, Anna District, County Cavan

CavanDrumlane (Cavan)

I used Church Baptism Records from Rootsireland.ie to trace a large group of Richmonds to both Cornadarra and Belturbet, Drumlane, County Cavan.  My problem is that many have the same given names, and I cannot determine who belongs in each family.  My 2x Gr-Grandfather is John Richmond and he married Matilda Williamson of Killevan, Clones, County Monaghan in 1842.  They left Ireland sometime after for Dumbartonshire Scotland, and wound up living in Renfrewshire.  John was an agricultural labourer, and Matilda raised pigs.  She was listed in the Paisley Poor Laws after John's death in 1858. They had 4 children born in Scotland, and 2 other deceased daughters (birth places unknown).

My 3x Gr-Grandfather Geofrey, married Mary Graham.  They were still in Ireland in 1857 working as tenant farmers for the Earl of Lanesborough at Brankill  according to the Property Valuation at that time.  I am uncertain whether they stayed in Ireland for life or followed others and left.

I would like to know if any of the other Richmonds remain(ed) in Ireland, or if any migrated to the United States or Canada.

Margie
