My great grandmother was Mary Hughes born 1856 of Bernard Hughes and Bridget Smyth. Mary emigrated ot the US in about 1875. My gedmatch is 014791

The surname Hughes is very common in Tynan civil parish.
I searched on Roots Ireland for a baptismal record for Mary Hughes. There were four possible Mary Hughes baptismal records in the Tynan RC parish with father named Bernard, however, none of the mother's names was Bridget. I also did not find a Mary Hughes baptismal record with a father Bernard and mother Bridget in other parishes of Armagh.
Civil registration of births did not start until 1864.
Do you have other information? Sibling names?

Thank you, Roger!! I THINK there is a possibility that Mary and some of her sibllings MAY have been born in Liverpool because I can find an Irish-born Barnard and Bridget Hughes in the Liverpool 1851 (?) census. Don' t know if this is really them or not...
