There are trees on Ancestry which report that Thomas and Agnes had 2 children in Templepatrick c 1831 & 1833. He reportedly died in Liverpool in 1890.
Chances are the family was Presbyterian. You may find their marriage and childrens baptisms in one of the Presbyterian church records for Templepatrick (there were several in the area) in PRONI in Belfast.

Per some trees on Ancestry, Arthur was the second son of Thomas Greer and Agnes Courtney (some trees show his parents were William Greer and Mary Ann Reid) Arthur married Mary Hadfield Moore about 1860. Their first son was James Courtney Greer. He was in boarding school in1871, per census. In 1881 he was taking care of his siblings while parents were absent. He was a commercial clerk to a metal broker. He married in 1896.

I believe that Thomas Greer might be the son of a George Greer and a a Miss Skelton and his wife Agnes was I think the daughter of a John Courtney and Hannah J Skelton
