Dear Hurt
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
Given the early period of your search, I would be surprised if you managed to find out anything further about Gilbert and his father. Records for the Church of Ireland parish of Kirkinriola (Ballymena) begin in 1815, Presbyterian records begin in 1824 and Church of Ireland Records begin in 1848.
Do you know anything about later generations?
Best wishes
Clare Doyle
