McHenry Family in County Antrim

Hi,

Although the Griffiths Valuation (showing range 1847-64) is past your target years, it can still be a helpful tool to help locate the descendants/Ancestors of others with the same names, helping to give clues on where to look as in the following link:

www.irishtimes.com

http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/surname/index.cfm?fuseaction=surnamemap&Surname=McKendry&UserID=.

Many variations appear to exist in the spelling and variants, Hendrie, Hendry, McKindry, McHendry, McKendry, and McKindry.

There is much data that can be gleaned that is free from this site, (for instance under placenames search), a positional map is shown with a listing of Townlands  or streets that might aid your search.

Good Luck! Jeanette

Hi there, For what it may be worth, my gtgt grandfather was born in Antrim July 1870 and registered as Alfred McKendry, his brother was registered as Alexander McHenry in Ballyhackamore(Belfast) in 1866. Their father was Archibald McKendrick born 1820 somewhere in Ireland, still looking for where but my cousin is convinced it was around Belfast somewhere.
Good Luck.

Family lore has my McHenry ancestors emigrating to Pennsylvania from County Antrim in the early 1800's. I have no idea what town they are from. My great-grandfather, James Clugston McHenry, subsequently emigated with his wife and infant son from Catasauqua, PA to Ontario, Canada in 1888. My grandfather was Morris James McHenry and my father was Gordon Morris McHenry.
