Looking for information on gg grandfather Archibald McCurry, born approx 1822, emigrated to Canada before 1845, with wife Ann (Hamilton), also born approx 1822. May have emigrated with Hamilton family. 1851 Canada Census states they were born in Antrim Ireland, but no indication as to whether it is Antrim County or Antrim Parish. Archie and Ann had 4 children, all born in Canada.
Hi,
An excellent tool can be found at http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/genie/
This will guide you on where to search for the records.
Given the early 1800 dates you are working with the guides at irish genealogy toolkit will help locate where you should look, http://www.irish-genealogy-toolkit.com/index.html
A tool I often use is the Immigrant Ship Transcribers Guild http://immigrantships.net/departures/ireland.html
When a several of my great grandparents immigrated to Canada, this source proved very valuable.
Hope this helps, Jeanette
