Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

If you look at www.rootsireland.ie you will see that there are 9 baptism records for a Joseph McCrary between 1804 and 1898 for counties, Armagh, Antrim, Down and Tyrone. As Joseph went to the US before 1748 none of these fit the bill.

There are 444 McCrary marriages and the earliest seems to be in 1748 and 1749. Given that civil registration does not begin until 1864, before this time we are dependent on parish records. The extent of records depends on the parish, some records start earlier than others.

Have you tried searching Ancestry.com for any mention of your ancestor?s name in member family trees or messages?

Remember to post any new information that you find here. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.

Best of luck with your search
