I have just come across this thread too. My great grandparents were Henry and Jane (nee Allen) Williamson. I was more involved in my family tree over 20 years ago and more organised. I pick up snippets now, however, never seem to get a chance to try to add them to what I already have. I may have some more info for you although I am very tied up this coming week.
I only recently found out that Jane Allen from Ballynick had more than three sisters. Those I heard of were Elizabeth (b 17.09.1844), Sarah (b1847), Mary (b 17.02.1850). Jane (b 2.10.1853). All baptised in 1858. Source: Portadown Wesleyan Methodist Church. That is the information I have. I know that they were Methodists. Perhaps they joined around 1858 and that is why they were baptised there at this time.
I have a marriage record somewhere for Benjamin Allen and Mary Mackie. Benjamin Allen (Drumharriff, Parish of Loughgall) married Mary Mackie, Kincon, Parish of Kilmore 11.05.1843.Someone else descended from these Allens told me that Benjamin’s father was called Benjamin born in 1779 and died 9.12.1864 age 84. His wife Elizabeth born in 1786 died d 1.10.1845 age 59. They lived in Drumharriff, Loughgall.
Jane Allen’s father Benjamin Allen’s will is available.
This was an area of Quaker settlement in the 1600s. I had wondered if Benjamin was descended from a William Allen whose will from the early 1700s is in an old Quaker Will Book. However, I have been told to be careful as there were four Allen brothers living around the Loughgall area in the 1700s.
Mary Mackie from Kincon is most likely descended from Quakers and John Mackie, Kincon who died in the late 1600s and whose will is in the book. However, I cannot get futher back beyond Mary. (From memory I believe Mary Mackie’s father was called James, however, I would need to find the actual info on that from the wedding certificate).
I know more about the Williamson’s. Easier to find. I was always told that they were descended from Quakers and I know that they are buried in the old Quaker graveyard at Moniehill. My father told me Henry and Jane, his grandparents, are buried there. You can find more out about that if you Google Sinton Family Trees and check out Moniehill graveyard for Williamsons. Some of the Williamson’s also had Mackie or Macky as their middle name. They are also descended from the Mackies through Henry’s grandmother Sarah Mackie. I cannot add all here.
I shall try to attach a memorial card for Moses, Henry and Janes, son. It was in my grandmother’s handbag. This should be of interest with regard both Williamson and Allen families.
