William James Douglas

Just wondering if anyone in this group has any information on a William James Douglas born in Galway City around 1801.  His father was another James Douglas.  There may have been a British army connection - William James certainly joined the army and ended up in India.  However I appear to have DNA connections in County Clare and that might suggest deeper roots.
