William F Tierney born 1808 BORRISOKANE married Ellen Touhy daughter of Dorothy Touhy possibly May 10, 1831 in BORRISOKANE, Tipperary. Two children that I know of, Dennis Tierney born June 1833 and Michael born January 1932. I am a descendent of Dennis Tierney and we are coming to Ireland next year. Any help or advice in finding family history would be very appreciated.

Did William and Ellen come to America or did they and some of their children stay in Ireland? It looks like Denis and maybe Michael went to Iowa.
Regards- Mary
Yes, Dennis and Michael both came to the United States. Dennis arrived in New York City 31 October 1853. He ended up settling in Iowa.
William and Ellen were married in May 1831. Ellen's address was Galross.

Some trees on Ancestry suggest William's parents were John Tierney and Dorothy Armstrong. There is no supporting documentation, and they have them born around 1800.
