William Brophy of Kilkenny

Am looking for any relatives of William Brophy and Kate Kenny (Catherine) who were married 9th Feb 1905 Ballyragget.

As far as I can tell they had at least 3 children:

Patrick born 1906, James born 1907 & John born 1911. They possibly had more children.

Maura:

There are no additional civil birth records in the Castlecomer registration district from 1912-1924 for children of William Brophy and Kate Kenny. Did this family stay in Kilkenny? Have you taken a DNA test?

Maura,

William died in 1946. Informant was P. Brophy, presumably Patrick, of same townland.

Patrick married in 1944:

James Brophy was a witness.

John married in 1945:

James Brophy was a witness.

Kilkenny Journal & Leinster Commercial & Literary Advertiser of 18th Sept 1937 reported William’s wife's death on 4th Sept 1937. Buried at Donaghmore cemetery. Huge attendance at the funeral, the largest seen in a long time.

A search of Finnan & Brophy in the Newspaper archives brings up a lot of matches to the various Brophy families in that townland. Most were agricultural eg turkeys for sale or winning prizes for their produce.

Maybe, there was a Margret McGrath of Brynesgrove married to a John Kenny in 1861.

Thank you everyone for all your replies. After reading all your messages I have realised that it is not the ‘William Brophy’ that I am looking for. However, there is a slim chance that William born 1868 could be a very distant relative.

I have done my DNA with ancestry and my heritage with most of my matches coming through on ancestry. I have a couple of very very very distant matches with the surname ‘Kenny’ and a few more with ‘Brophy’ but I haven’t been able to match up anything to my ancestors yet.

I really appreciate every bit of help on this site.

Thank you
