My Hughes Family members, lived inKellystown, Meath were all baptized in Rathkenny and Grangegeeth Catholic churches between1795 and 1818. My GG grandfather Matthew Hughes(1771) and his wife Bridget Traynor(1765) must have been married in approx 1793+-. Hughes'emigrated to St Lawrence County, NY through Quebec, Canada starting in 1827. It looks like other Meath Families also moved to St Lawrence County about the same time. Do you know of any Meath Families that migratedto St Lawrence County NY in the 1820s and 1830s?Was there anyrecruitmentofMeath residents from the Rathkenny and Grangrgeeth parishes to immigrate to St Lawrence County, New York State, USA? Why did these Meath families all emigrate to St Lawrence County, NY at the same time?
