WHO ARE THE "FAMED" D'ARCY'S OF WICKLOW AND WEXFORD?

I have been researching a Moses Cornwall, Mayor of Kimberley, South Africa. I have found a few snippets about his mother Mary D'Arcy. Firstly, a relative was a United Irishman. Secondly, this Mary D'Arcy was a member of the "famed" D'Arcys of Wicklow and Wexford. This information from History and album of the Irish Race Convention which met in Dublin the first three days of September, 1896. Who is this "famed" family of D'Arcys? Nothing obvious from Internet searches. Any ideas...? Kathryn
