Someone gave me this website and i am not sure where to start. I know the Carroll's came to Brooklyn and my Grandfather William married Anne McShea, also from Brooklyn. I remember hearing that something about Cork but don't known where else to go from there.

You need to use Ancestry.com or familysearch.org to research your family in the USA first. I assume William was born in the USA? Can you identify his parents names and whether they were born in Ireland? When were they born?

Roger is correct...there is an extensive tree on Ancestry for William Joseph Carroll...you might be able to purchase a month's subscription to view it. Some brief items of information..he was born 6 Jul 1896 in NY, died Jan 1971 Mineola, Nasau, NY. His father was Hugh Carroll Sr, also born in NY - May 1862 and died in 1929, NY, Kings, NY. I don't know if the generation beyond Hugh is correct on the tree because it shows that Hugh's father Patrick was born in Roscommon and died in Scotland, so never came to the US.
You would need to verify the information yourself.

Thank you both! My sister will know more about the dates but he definitely died in Mineola NY in 1971.
