I have relatives who I have somewhere found originated from Westport ,Co Mayo.
The family name Waters as follows:
Father James born 1799
Mother Elen? born 1803
Daughter Margaret born 1833
Does anyone have any more information about the family please?

The civil parish for Westport is Aghagower and the RC parish is Aghagower. I searched on the subscription site Roots and I did not see a baptismal record for a Margaret Waters. There were three baptismal records in Aghagower RC parish for children of James Waters and Bridget Waters-- Anne 1829 Patrick 1833 Timothy 1836.
The Tithe listings for Aghagower civil parish showed a Bryan Waters but no James Waters.

Is this your Margaret? Could she have incorrectly identified Mayo. Patricia's find seemed promising.
James evidently died by 1858. I find it interesting that the mother of this family first name seems to be Bridget in 1861. Did she use two different names?
