Was there a Parish called Enough ( or similar in Armagh 1800’s?

I have found a listing for a relative named James Wilson that was born in Armagh, Armagh in 1791. A potential military record exists that incluses a Potential record for James but it cites Enough, Armagh as where he came from. JAmes and his father James emigrated to Canada in 1816 as part of the Perth Military Settlement on the ship Alexander out of Belfast. Also looking for a youn boy who came with them with the surname Wooten. Appreciate any leads.

i, visiting Armagh tomorrow to continue my hunt for clues.

thanks

I cant think of a parish in County Armagh or the Diocese of Armagh name 'Enough' - either Church of Ireland or Catholic ....see below for an extract of what I believe is the Military record for this James Wilson for reference....

The only RC or CofI parish I can find in Co. Armagh that starts with 'E' is Eglish which is parish in the North West of the county.

Anne,

I hope you found what you are looking for.

You might already have this information. A tree on Ancestry shows James jr. mother as Elizabeth Libby (abt. 1767-1820). He had two sisters Jane 1793 and Mary 1800. They all went to Canada in 1816 on the Alexander. James jr. married Isabella Carr/ Kerr from Scotland in Perth in 1822.

Anne,

I looked at his military registry on Ancestry. Original record shows County as Armagh and Town/ Parish as Armagh. Perhaps someone miswrote- Enough. It should have been Armagh.

There is’t a parish called Enough (or similar) in Armagh but there are 4 townlands named Enagh. That sounds pretty like “enough”. The 4 townlands are in the parishes of Killevy, Kilclooney, Lisnadill & Tynan.

You might want to search the parish records for those parishes to see if the family is listed.
