Ward

My 3rd Gt Grandfather was Hugh Ward. His daughter Mary was born around 1843 in Sligo. The only mention of Hugh I have is on Mary's marriage certificate (Stockton on Tees, England), noted as deceased - so he died before 1865, I would guess he was born around 1815 but I haven't been able to find any records. A DNA match was from an ancestor of Thomas Ward (1833). His parents were Michael Ward and Catherine Bolan noted on his marriage record. I'm looking for anything that would link Hugh Ward to Michael Ward or any records of other family of Hugh and Michael - there was nothing from my ancestry searches. Any help would be appreciated.

Maria, daughter of Hugh, was baptized in 1842 in Sligo.  There was also one baptized in 1841. I hope this helps.

The records for the RC parish of Sligo started in 1831 which will make it very difficult to link up Hugh Ward to Michael Ward. T

The subscription site Roots Ireland has two Thomas Ward baptismal records in Sligo RC parish with parents Michael Ward and Catherine Boland. The first was February 14 1831 and the second was May 16 1832. Presumably, the 1831 Thomas died soon after birth and the next child was also named Thomas.
