Yes

these are the 2 families

I can follow most of them either thru ireland and over here to the US and one to Enland

I have been on Irish Genealogy and can see James Walsh and Mary Whites church record and Civil registration records

the Image for their civil registration has not been attached yet

I need to know their parents names and where it states they came from (is James' father Denis or David?)  they named their first child David

is it possible that you can see this document?

James and Marys  son John was my grandfather 

We will be visiting ireland for the first time this September

We will be in Cork and Kinsale

Where exactly is Knockrobin?

I have a picture of my grandfather Walsh with another gentleman taken in Kinsale by T Doolans, Main St Kinsale

He was one of 6 boys so I have no idea whothe other person is

I would like to see if I can find any relatives of either the Mahony's or Walsh's

(I have Mahoney's on my mothers side too and they are also from Cork)

one Mahony at a time for now

in the 1901 and 1911 census the walsh's were residents of houses at 7 and 11 knockrobin rural kinsale

would this be in the area of the 182 acres?Were trying to map out some routes for when we go to Kinsale this September

We just came back from the most fantastic trip to Cork and Kinsale

With your assistance we met up with Joanne O'Sullivan who jumped right in to get us to the places our families came from especially the churches 

A conversation overheard at a restauran in Kinsalet where we had met Joanne connected me with a cousin by marriage (he came right over to the table)

and several days later I was able to connect with a direct cousin 

Many thanks for your great input and guidance

Roger,: y0u had sent me a link to a PDF file for a book that was found in an old church near Kinsale

I had it on my computer but cannot find it

Was it from the old church in Clontead? 

could you send that to me again?

Now that I have seen the areas and with Joannes help, I understand so much more of townands , churches and estates

I believe that the book was found in the ruins of an old church  tucked in a wall and because I was looking in the Clontead parish for records, I am thinking it was from there

I beleive Roger sent it to me over a year ago (and again, I could be confusing things)

I've noticed that some of my original posts to Ireland Reaching out are missing and it could be in one of the replies

We climbed up into the ruins of the original Clontead church and the alter is still somewhat intact,There are many spaces between the stones and small openings that probably held some of their artifacts and church documents 

there is a gravestone marker in front of it on the side of the road. at the spot, it closed in 1909 and the new church is in Belgooley (I believe thats where we went)

Joanne had not known exactly where the church was until we spoke with someone else

I am so enjoying going over my pictures and having walked in my families footsteps

I have a picture of my grandfather Walsh taken at T Doolins in Kinsale and will post it in a bit

And that is another story that come to life after I showed it to a local tour guide in Kinsale

I found where the book was on line

It is part of the NLI web site that details parish registers  and I was able to see the book taken from the old church in Clontead Parish 

the original church closed in 1910 and I know the book I saw on line came from there as it contains all of my grandmother Walsh's (nee Mahony) family and the Walsh's

The church ruins are marked with a gravestone marker on the side of the road detailing when the church closed and the newer one opened

When we were on our trip we climbed up into the ruins and the alter is still intact with a very polished piece of marble

I am still marveling at all of the family history we found on our trip

I hope I can get back there soon and i truely fell in love with ireland

Hi, anyone help with William Walsh born 1820 son of Patrick Walsh  born in Kinsale not sure if that is Kinsale town or surrounding area.

My Walsh family is from Kinsale (Brownsmills and Knockrobin) but I can only go back as far as James who was born around 1845

He married in 1865 and from there I can do the family tree

Hi, i am Patrick and put my ancestor  William Walsh born 1820 onto this site.      He migrated to Shoreditch London 1840 where he married Bridget Foley from Limerick in 1841, Children,  John 1842-  William Patrick 1844 -   Maryann 1844.--   Margaret. 1846.  Ellen 1849. --  Mary 1853. Daniel  1854. William 1859   I know there is probably only one  William born to a Patrick in the Kinsale records  being Patrick Walsh & Ellen Daly  their son William was born 1817.  I have researched the Tithe records  as William's father Patrick is shown as alive on the marriage cert for 1841 As William's first son was John (not his fathers name)   it must have been a close name to him . Brisget Foley "s father was Jeremiah so not him. I am a DNA match to Phillip Welch also mentione on this site and my first cousin is a match to Phillip on Ancestry DNA  he also born in Kinsale a long way back .Knockrobbin has many Walsh's  like Ballyfeard, & Dunderrow, & Ballinhassig (dna match to Barrets & Walsh) also matches to Walsh's in Lackaduff near Clonakilty.  Any help would be really really appreciated.      In anticipation. Clontead Parish found at least 3 William Walsh's. with families  one for your info. had a Maurice  quite a few Walsh's around that time in Clontead so maybe my Walsh was from this area . you never know.  Patrick

 

Hi, just as an aside , i looked at Clontead birth records 1800-1820 found at least 3 William Walsh's with families one being O'Brien i saw a Maurice in your family Ann in the census returns for James Walsh & Mary White
